The National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a meeting with representatives of Afghanistan. The Academy was visited by Mr. Mohammad Ur Rehman Rahmani, Authorized Representative of Afghanistan in Kazakhstan, and Mr. Ahmadzai Muhammad Ayub, diplomat of the Consulate General of Afghanistan in Almaty.
The distinguished guests were welcomed by the President of the NAS RK, Academician Akhylbek Kurishbayev, and Vice-President, Didar Batryshev. During the discussions, the parties explored opportunities for the development of joint scientific areas and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between the academies of sciences of both countries.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to sign a memorandum of cooperation, to organize a joint meeting of academicians of Kazakhstan and Afghanistan, as well as to hold a scientific conference. The participants also exchanged information about the structure and activities of their academies of sciences, highlighting the need to expand scientific exchange and joint initiatives.
The National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan attaches great importance to international cooperation, and the agreements reached open up new perspectives for strengthening scientific ties with Afghanistan.
