The first Institute of Transport Sciences and Technologies was established in Kazakhstan

Event: A memorandum was signed in Almaty to establish Kazakhstan's first Institute of Transport Sciences and Technologies (ITST).
Management & Base: The Institute will operate under the management of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, based at the ALT University named after Mukhamedzhan Tynyshpayev.
Foundation: Established in fulfillment of the strategic directives of the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to advance the transport, logistics, and transit potential of the country.

The President of NAS RK, Akhylbek Kurishбаев (Kurishbayev), noted that Kazakhstan's geographical location in the center of Eurasia demands robust scientific support for the transportation sector.
A specialized "Transport" section has been newly established within the Academy's structure.
This field has been officially included in the list of priority scientific areas, expanding the participation of transport projects in grant and program-targeted state funding.

Core Activity: Development of scientific and technical foundations for the transport system, improving transit and logistics efficiency, and implementing innovative materials.
Road-Climatic Zoning: Transitioning from the current division of Kazakhstan's territory into 2 zones to a more detailed system that accounts for regional characteristics during infrastructure construction.
Digitalization: Implementing Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and predictive modeling to optimize transport flows and enhance infrastructure safety.
