On September 18, 2026, the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan hosted a meeting of science and business representatives on scientific and industrial cooperation in the agro-industrial sector.

The meeting was attended by the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC "PetroKazakhstan", the Agricultural Crop Seed Institute of the major conglomerate CITIC Group (China International Trust and Investment Corporation), as well as representatives of the Beijing-based seed research company Longping High-Tech and the company "Dadi Tianze Agricultural Technologies" LLP.

The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in plant breeding and seed production, the transfer of advanced agricultural technologies, joint scientific research and industrial trials, as well as the implementation of high-yielding and drought-resistant crop varieties adapted to the natural and climatic conditions of Kazakhstan.

Special attention was paid to the development of joint research on crops such as corn, wheat, sorghum, sunflower, rapeseed, and other agricultural crops, the creation of demonstration and experimental sites, and the formation of a comprehensive scientific and industrial value chain based on the model: "breeding and seed production — modern agrotechnologies — deep processing of agricultural products."

The meeting participants noted that combining the scientific potential of the NAS RK, international technological expertise, and the industrial capabilities of business will accelerate the adoption of modern agricultural technologies, increase the productivity of agricultural production, and create conditions for implementing joint projects in Kazakhstan.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to prepare and sign a Cooperation Agreement, as well as to begin developing a roadmap for joint research, development, and industrial projects.

The parties expressed mutual interest in establishing a long-term partnership between science and business aimed at the practical application of scientific developments and the advancement of Kazakhstan's agro-industrial complex.
