XII Internationsal scientific and practical conference "Current issues of the uranium industry"

INFORMATION LETTER

National Atomic Company Kazatomprom and Kazakh-British Technical University hereby invite you to participate in the XII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Development of the Uranium and Rare Metals Industry” (hereinafter — the Conference), which will be held from May 13 to May 15, 2026 with the support of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Conference venue: Kazakh-British Technical University, 59 Tole Bi Street, Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan.

The objective of the Conference is to promote the integration of scientific and industrial potential, facilitate the exchange of knowledge and best practices aimed at improving the efficiency, safety, and sustainable development of the nuclear industry, as well as to strengthen national and international scientific capacity.

Within the framework of the Conference, current issues and promising directions will be discussed in the following thematic sections:

• Geology, geotechnologies, and mine development operations;
• Uranium mining and processing technologies;
• Technologies and current challenges of the front-end nuclear fuel cycle;
• Resource base and efficient technologies to produce rare and rare-earth metals, as well as high-tech products based on them;
• Safety and  sustainable  development        of      nuclear       industry      enterprises: management of industrial waste, industrial and environmental safety;
• Sustainable development and ESG agenda: environmental protection, social responsibility, and corporate governance;
• Digitalization and robotics in the nuclear industry.

Special attention will be given to the development of young scientists. A Round Table of the Council of Young Scientists of Kazakhstan is planned to foster interaction among young researchers and to discuss scientific initiatives contributing to technological advancement of the industry.

Participation in the Conference is possible both as a listener and as a speaker. Authors of scientific papers will have the opportunity to present the results of their research in the form of oral reports and presentations within the respective thematic sections.

Key Dates of the Conference:

• By April 20, 2026 — Submission of registration forms and paper abstracts (MS Word format) for inclusion in the conference proceedings;
• By April 20, 2026 — Submission of presentation slides (MS PowerPoint format).
